So, yes, this experience did “represent any kind of inconvenience “. Wheeling our baggage along bumpy broken sidewalks of the semi-industrial area of these airport hotels, pushing our wheeled bags up the ramp to cross the highway, sweating in our winter clothes in Atlanta’s much warmer temperatures, and having to wait until breakfast to eat anything was an unmitigated disaster, especially since I had planned this to be a purely relaxing afternoon and evening as something of a gift to my husband. I had spent some time choosing this hotel, which was a waste of my time. I have no idea why we were chosen to be screwed around in this way. Nobody at any point of the hour and a half that we spent in their lobby had offered to help us in this way! All in all, what was to have been a relaxing break on our way from Paris to Puerta Vallarta, and the start to our vacation, turned into an exhausting experience in which we were treated like second-class citizens. They didn’t but offered to book us in at “one of our partner hotels in the Hilton group”. While sitting in our new hotel room, out of curiosity, my husband called the Embassy Suites hotel and asked if they had a room available. So, we had no dinner, wasted our day trying to resolve a problem created by Embassy Suites for a room we had booked well in advance. We tried to order from their externally run food delivery service, but the website was down. I’d chosen the Embassy Suites because it had a heated pool and jacuzzi and a good restaurant, but we ended up in a basic hotel that had only chips and nuts for sale, let alone room service or a restaurant. In this time nobody at Embassy Suites offered to help us transport ourselves and our luggage or offered an alternate hotel. We were in the Embassy Suites’ lobby all this time, an hour and a half, having a truly horrific start to our vacation. We then spent another half an hour trying to get a taxi before deciding we’d have to walk there, with our luggage, which took about 15 minutes along a freeway. By this time Embassy Suites staff had given up on us completely so we decided we’d have to find a hotel ourselves and booked a room at the nearby Hampton Inn. The room we had booked at Embassy Suites cost considerably more $230 a night. We were exhausted, but luckily I looked up the hotel and read the worst series of reviews I’ve read for any hotel in my life! Plus, I saw their rooms were $62 a night, which is an indication of the quality to expect. Finally, reassured us that we “wouldn’t be charged a penalty for cancelling our reservation” (!!) and told us they’d found a replacement hotel for the night. The Embassy Suites staff offered us nothing, and most of this time we were on hold. We spent another hour in the lobby, trying to communicate with to find a room somewhere. We were too tired and jetlagged to realize this at the time. It took us over an hour to get to the hotel, to be told that they didn’t have a room for us and were to blame, when in reality, Embassy Suites had obviously overbooked. The “shuttle” turned out to involve a 10- minute wait for a bus, then a 25-minute bus ride plus a 15-minute wait before we even boarded the shuttle. More Show lessĪfter arriving from a long flight from France at around 3pm, Thursday December 1st 2022, I called the hotel from Atlanta airport to ask about their shuttle service and nobody communicated to us that there was a problem with our booking. Otherwise, a great stay and I would recommend to anyone. My only negatives about the property is the fact that there is no outdoor pool, and the tv in the studio suite does not swivel, which makes watching television from the sofa a little difficult. The manager's reception and breakfast were both pretty packed, but service was still good. By the evening, there were no clean towels at the pool, otherwise they are provided. There is no outdoor pool (only indoor) and a small fitness room. The desk was large enough to work from if need be. The room had a mini fridge, coffee maker and sink. The staff I encountered at the front desk, housekeeping, bar and restaurant were all friendly and welcoming. Everything about it was so nice and clean. ![]() The Airport North property felt brand new. It is important to note that here is also an Embassy Suites Atlanta Airport. I recently stayed at the Embassy Suites Atlanta Airport North for one night.
